HGV Technician
Location: Felixstowe
Salary: Up to £44,720 basic (£21.50 per hour) plus overtime at £32.25 (time and half)
Hours: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts: 07:00–15:30 and 15:30–00:00 (midnight), 30-minute break

This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new, purpose-built depot in Felixstowe as an HGV Technician. You’ll be working a rotating early/late shift pattern, carrying out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs. The role also provides access to professional training and development, including IRTEC, IVR and HGV licence progression.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician
Carry out diagnostics and provide accurate repair solutions
Prepare specifications for quotes and works orders
Identify and resolve defects during servicing or planned maintenance
Record all time accurately using correct job codes
Complete repair jobs fully and hand over to the service team for invoicing
Support smooth shift handovers, reporting on outstanding repairs and customer issues
Requirements for an HGV Technician
Essential
Level 3 City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter
Knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers’ manual
Understanding of Operators Licence laws and regulations
Ability to analyse technical issues and provide solutions
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Desirable
Experience using GDS and Impact systems
Awareness of workshop KPIs
Additional product knowledge
Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Outlook)
