We’re looking for a qualified HGV Technician to join a well-equipped workshop in the Shepshed area. Whether you’re known as an HGV Mechanic, Trailer Fitter, or Commercial Vehicle Technician, this is a full-time, permanent role offering strong overtime potential and excellent benefits. You’ll be inspecting, servicing, and repairing trailers to a high standard, supporting one of the UK’s leading transport operations.

Key Responsibilities of a HGV Technician

  • Inspect, service and repair trailers to industry standards

  • Use diagnostic tools to resolve faults including HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE

  • Maintain accurate service and compliance records

  • Work to health and safety standards at all times

  • Support the wider team with technical knowledge

  • Engage in continuous technical development

Skills and Qualifications for a HGV Technician

Essential

  • Experience working on semi-trailers or HGVs

  • City & Guilds or NVQ in vehicle maintenance

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 licence

  • IRTEC accreditation

  • Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)

  • Welding knowledge

  • Axle training on BPW, SAF, or JOST

  • Tail lift and lifting deck experience
