HGV Technician

Location: Lutterworth
Salary: £42,000 to £52,000 
Shift: Monday to Friday, alternating weekly shifts of 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm
Hours: 40 hours per week plus alternate Saturdays 6am to 12pm (paid at overtime rate)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Lutterworth. You’ll be part of a skilled team working on a wide range of vehicles and trailers, carrying out maintenance and repairs to DVSA standards. Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician

• Routine servicing and maintenance of HGVs and trailers

• Fault diagnosis and mechanical repairs

• Roadside breakdown support and on-site customer repairs

• Ensure high standards of safety, cleanliness, and care of vehicles

• Liaise with the parts team to order required components

• Complete job cards and service sheets accurately and promptly

• Follow all health and safety regulations in the workshop

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician

Essential

• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent experience

• Full UK driving licence

• Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Awareness of health and safety in the workplace

Desirable

• IRTEC inspection licence

• ADR certification

• Experience working in a dealership or fleet maintenance environment
