Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Carry out maintenance and repairs on HGVs to industry standards
Interpret job cards and complete work in line with instructions
Record work carried out and identify any further faults
Keep work areas clean and follow all workshop procedures
Attend ongoing technical training and stay up to date
Communicate effectively with the wider team
Support the overall image and reputation of the company
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Essential
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
Previous experience working on HGVs in a workshop environment
Ability to manage a varied workload and work as part of a team
Strong communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Manufacturer-specific training
Experience working flexible or part-time shifts
Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
