Salary: £40,000 basic plus uncapped commission (OTE up to £200,000)
Hours: 47.5 hours per week, 08:00-18:00, 30 min unpaid break
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive sales of construction equipment, dumpers, and telehandlers across your territory. This is a field-based role for a motivated individual with a proven track record in plant, construction, or heavy equipment sales. You will manage existing client relationships while building new business, generating leads, and ensuring outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sales leads through networking, referrals, and prospecting

  • Identify, penetrate, and close business opportunities while securing additional sales such as parts and service

  • Prepare quotations, monitor orders, and ensure timely customer payments

  • Achieve sales and profitability targets consistently

  • Maintain excellent supplier and customer relationships

  • Collaborate with sales admin and aftersales teams for smooth handovers

  • Actively develop a network of customer relationships with new and existing clients

  • Keep accurate records in the CRM system

  • Manage customer concerns professionally, providing timely solutions

  • Organise product demonstrations to support closing new deals

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in construction equipment, plant, or heavy machinery sales

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and close deals

  • Target-driven, motivated, and able to work independently

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Flexible approach to work and travel across your territory

Desirable

  • Existing customer base in construction or plant equipment

  • Experience working with multiple brands or product lines
