Vehicle Damage Assessor
Location: Middlesex
Basic Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: 42.5h week / Monday to Friday
Our client, a well-established and reputable body shop in the Middlesex area, is looking for a talented Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Estimator / VDA with experience working on LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles) to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities of a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Estimator / VDA:
Accurately assess vehicle and LCV damage (including vans and fleet vehicles) and create detailed repair estimates using Audatex software
Use your expert knowledge to provide accurate vehicle and LCV structural and non-structural assessments, producing estimates in line with manufacturer and industry standards
Identify and assess damage to commercial vehicle-specific components such as load areas, side panels, roof structures, chassis legs, and high-roof or long-wheelbase variants
Maximise profitability by offering professional sales techniques and ensuring efficient repair schedules, particularly for time-sensitive fleet and business users
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing a high level of service and addressing queries and concerns promptly, including liaising with fleet managers and insurance companies
Work in collaboration with the workshop team to ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications for both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with industry regulations, PAS standards, and manufacturer repair methods
Maximise efficiency and cost control in line with company policies, insurance requirements, and manufacturer guidelines
Qualifications and Skills for Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Estimator / VDA:
ATA Qualified (Preferred), or equivalent qualification (e.g., NVQ, IMI, SVQ)
Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Estimator / VDA, including working on LCVs, within a fast-paced accident repair centre or body shop environment
Strong knowledge of vehicle and light commercial vehicle repair techniques, including structural repairs, panel replacement, and commercial bodywork considerations
Experience using Audatex for estimating and assessments
Understanding of fleet processes, insurance procedures, and commercial downtime management
Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to engage with customers, insurers, and fleet operators while maximising profitability
