Van Technician Supervisor

Salary: £45,000  
Hours: 45 per week, Mon-Fri, alternating shift pattern 07:00–16:30 / 08:30–18:00, alternate Saturday mornings

Overview
Our newly opened Van Centre in Tipton is looking for a qualified Van Technician Supervisor with excellent mechanical and diagnostic skills. You will lead a team of technicians, manage workloads, and ensure high-quality service, repairs, and maintenance of all vans. This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician looking to step into a supervisory role with career development prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate shift technicians

• Liaise with management regarding training needs, KPIs, and team performance

• Diagnose and repair vehicles to a high standard

• Carry out servicing and scheduled maintenance

• Participate in call-out and breakdown rota when required

• Use diagnostic equipment effectively

• Conduct safety inspections and report required rectifications

• Complete job cards clearly and accurately

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge

• City & Guilds or NVQ3 Vehicle Technician qualification

• Electrical and mechanical skills with hands-on experience

• Good understanding of H&S practices in a workshop environment

• Clean driving licence; HGV licence advantageous

• Ability to work flexibly and manage a team effectively
