People Advisor

Location: Christchurch, Dorset (Hybrid)
Hourly rate: £20.51ph
Hours: Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week - Temporary to possible permanent

Role overview for the People Advisor:
Our client is looking for a proactive, personable People Advisor who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The role will support recruitment and HR activity across the UK, with exposure to international teams in South Africa and Asia, while playing a key part in fostering a positive People & Culture environment.

Key Responsibilities for the People Advisor:

  • Own the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, and development

  • Support training initiatives and liaise with external stakeholders

  • Assist in coordinating global culture initiatives

  • Provide administrative support and contribute to ongoing People & Culture projects

  • Support onboarding of new starters, including contract generation, equipment coordination, and induction support

  • Maintain HR and recruitment documentation, including starter and leaver paperwork, employee benefits, probations, and work anniversaries

  • Take accurate notes during HR meetings, investigations, and hearings

  • Draft HR correspondence, including ER-related letters, contracts, and general employee communications

  • Respond to basic HR queries, escalating where appropriate

Skills & experience required for the People Advisor:

  • Highly personable with the ability to work with a wide range of personalities

  • Knowledge and application of recruitment metrics and KPIs

  • A genuine passion for people and employee experience

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills

  • Professional and positive approach, with a clear understanding of discretion and confidentiality

  • Strong time management skills and a proactive work ethic

  • Desire for continuous self-development and business improvement

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills

  • High energy, drive, and enthusiasm

  • Proficient in HR systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
