HGV Technician
Location: Tamworth
Salary: up to £60,000 per annum (DOE, includes OT/enhancements when applicable)
Hours: 45 hours per week
Shifts: Rotating — 06:00–15:30 and 09:00–18:30 (30 minute unpaid lunch)

We’re recruiting an experienced Hybrid Mobile HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Mobile HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Roadside HGV Technician to work across a busy Tamworth workshop, with the option to join a paid callout rota for roadside assistance. Workshop-only roles are available; if you opt into callouts, enhanced earnings apply and a fully equipped service van is provided.
Key Responsibilities (Hybrid Mobile HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Mobile HGV Technician)
Service, maintain, and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles to DVSA/manufacturer standards (workshop; roadside if opted into callouts)
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using dealer-level diagnostic tools
(Optional) Attend breakdowns and roadside callouts, completing safe, efficient repairs
Complete accurate job cards, inspection sheets, and compliance documentation
Collaborate with service and workshop teams to meet daily targets and customer SLAs
Follow workshop processes, H&S procedures, and engage in continuous technical training
Skills & Qualifications (HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician)
Essential:
Qualified HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician with proven experience
Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills; professional and calm under pressure
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
IRTEC licence/certification
HGV Class 1/2 licence
Experience with roadside assistance and structured dealer processes
