We’re looking for a skilled HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or HGV Fitter to join a busy and professional workshop in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern facility with great support, strong earning potential, and real career progression.

  • Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

  • Service, maintain, and repair HGVs to DVSA and manufacturer standards

  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults accurately

  • Ensure all repairs are carried out efficiently and documented correctly

  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain workshop productivity

  • Engage in ongoing training and keep up to date with vehicle systems

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience working on HGVs

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 licence

  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment

  • Positive, proactive mindset and team-oriented approach
