HGV Technician
Location: Caerphilly
Salary: £21 to £22 per hour (£44k to £46k basic annual)
Hours: Nights, 10pm to 6am
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Overtime: Paid at time and a half – can boost total pay to £52k+

Key responsibilities
Perform diagnostic, mechanical and electrical repairs on HGVs
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance to high industry standards
Use computer-aided diagnostic tools (training provided if needed)
Ensure health and safety compliance at all times
Complete accurate job records and communicate effectively with the team
Skills and experience required
Essential
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic
Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic fault-finding skills
Good understanding of HGV servicing and repairs
Committed to health and safety practices
Willingness to learn and train on latest technologies
Desirable
Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. IMI, City & Guilds)
Experience working in a main dealer or commercial fleet workshop
Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
