This 4 on 4 off shift gives you a great work-life balance, working just half the year while earning a strong base rate and overtime. You’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team maintaining a fleet of modern commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

  • Carry out routine servicing and mechanical repairs on HGVs

  • Diagnose faults and perform corrective maintenance

  • Complete safety inspections to DVSA standards

  • Keep all records and job cards accurate and up to date

  • Work collaboratively with parts and service teams

  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Essential

  • Experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles

  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 licence

  • Experience in a dealer or fleet environment

  • IRTEC or similar certifications
