HGV Trailer Technician

Location: Newcastle
Basic Salary: £36,000 per annum
OTE: £42,000 with overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday (Day Shift Only) 
Extras: 33 - 37 days holiday per annum, Overtime paid at time and a third, private healthcare, pension, and more

Key Responsibilities of a Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Technician: 

  • Perform detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers

  • Diagnose and resolve issues using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE

  • Accurately complete all compliance documentation

  • Work to tight deadlines while delivering high-quality repairs and customer service

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

  • Participate in training including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW, SAF, and axle/brake courses

Essential Skills and Qualifications for a Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Technician:

  • Semi-trailer or heavy vehicle experience

  • Industry-standard qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ

Desirable Skills and Qualifications for a Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Technician:

  • HGV Class 1 driving licence

  • IRTEC accreditation

  • EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)

  • Welding certification

  • Training or experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)

  • Tail lift, double deck, or lifting deck maintenance experience
