HGV Technician

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Technician to join a well-equipped commercial vehicle workshop in the Raunds area. This full-time, permanent role offers excellent earning potential, structured training, and a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities of a HGV Technician

  • Carry out servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on trucks and trailers

  • Accurately complete job cards and compliance paperwork

  • Diagnose faults using systems including HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE

  • Undertake regular product and manufacturer training

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment

  • Provide top-quality customer service in a time-sensitive setting

Skills and Qualifications for a HGV Technician

Essential

  • Experience working with trucks and trailers

  • Recognised qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 licence

  • IRTEC accreditation

  • Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)

  • Axle system training (BPW, SAF, JOST)

  • Tail lift service experience
